Labor Day Labor

Today was busy. Of course it was a holiday and we were supposed to do nothing but instead we did a whole lot. We got up and went to IKEA. Anyone who’s been to IKEA knows that there is a real good reason why the furniture is inexpensive . . . you get to put each and every piece together yourself.

We got our cool sideboard for our TV. I’m excited. But I must say that my sweet hubby is the best. It literally took him 4 hours to put that darned thing together. It does look good, I must admit. Poor guy, the stuff is so heavy that I wasn’t much help. But, I did get to use the hammer some, that was fun. Here is poor David toiling away.

The finished product is nice, I’m very happy. It looks so good. We haven’t gotten the TV on there yet but here is the sideboard 4 hours after David produced enough sweat to fill a bucket. Doesn’t it look lovely? Pics will be up soon of the finished look with the TV on it and all, but for now here is the finished job after today’s work!

Now yesterday I did stuff that I probably shouldn’t have but hey when you want something done sometimes you just have to do it yourself. So I decided to finally take care of the all the junk on the back porch as well as the twigs, sticks and dead leaves all over the porch and flower beds. So here are some pics of the porch before the clean-up. I

Here are the pics of the after. Sorry I took them at night but you can see the flower beds are all cleaned out and the patio is debris and clutter free! I washed the patio by scrubbing it with a scrub brush and Pine Sol. I had to get the doggie smell out of all the patio. It’s so spic and span! Of course that won’t last too long but at least I can feel good about doing it. I’m sure it won’t get done again for another year . . . or more. Next year we all know I’ll have more things to worry about!
